A little slow on the uptake, but "On the Ledge" has been installed - the second of my creations up north. I now have a piece anchoring both ends of the park. Beautiful place.... Elk Rapids Day Park. If you are up vacationing visit the park and peek at my sculptures, of coarse.
My weekend working with Dan (Black Iron Forge) and Derrick Bliss (Hot Fire Forge) on a custom made exterior railing. Don't try this at home.
Well, the jobs are trickling in from our presence at the Lansing Home & Garden show. Handrails... straight and curved, simple and beautiful. Other leads are developing too, so stay tuned.
Hot Fire Forge: Derrick Bliss
Yikes, it looks official. This is really happening!
The countdown is on...one week until the Lansing Home & Garden Show. See you there?
Life with an artist: it may be the dinner table (see earlier post) or that space-we-just-created-by-moving-the-couch. When in need of a warm place to create, any space will do. :)
In addition to creating the Valentine lily that weekend, I knocked out three more awards... taking over the dinner table one night to finish them. Lots of drilling holes and grinding, but the end product always makes it worth it!
Lots of social media action around the trophies I made for the CATA Come Clean Duathlon yesterday. In case you didn't see, don't miss out! They came out beautifully...
For your viewing pleasure, here are more pics of the trophies - including several promo/teaser photos before the event. I really enjoyed this project...
Love on my welding bench and my design sheet. Instant smiles. No better start to a day of art...
Forging metal may take a little longer, but nothing compares to the look and feel of it! Besides, it'll last forever...
Here's an internal 'traveling' trophy for the creative communicators at Gud Marketing. What do you think?
A client had a cast bell and yoke of sentimental value, but it was missing the cradle and handle. I designed and created this one to match the bell size and the look of the yoke. I will have to see about a photo of it installed...
woo-hoo! My friends at the Lansing Art Gallery are showing off their new sign. Looks sharp with the lettering in place. Thanks, Ladies.

If you cannot make it to Elk Rapids to see the sculptures in person, here is a quick virtual tour for you... and no tired legs

As promised, here's another project... delivered to the happy ladies of the Lansing Art Gallery. This sidewalk sign can easily be moved indoors/outdoors, and won't blow over in the gusty downtown corridor. It came with aluminum panels that will become various signs stuck up with magnets - interchangeable for that special event...
Darn it!!!!!!!!!!!
My proposal for Delta Township was not selected.
Just a minor road bump in my journey to artistic excellence, and another runner-up notch in the belt ...
What's a guy to do when his family is enjoying sun and fun at the lake... without him... for the upteenth time this summer?!
BE PRODUCTIVE. Knocked four art projects off the list, including the Borg Cube, a perspective sculpture, a bell cradle, and a sidewalk sign. Stay tuned for pictures this week...
Custom made for a star trek fan to put in her office cubicle. .... this is the finished Borg cube, with a new paint job and a hook to hang from. Looks good flying through cubicle country...
